The six brightly coloured cabins, known in Fiji as bures, capture my attention first.

Each has its own hue - helpful for remembering which one you’re staying in.

Inside, you’ll find little more than mosquito nets and either a double or two single beds. 

Three of the bures have en-suites. The others are close to the shared washrooms.

Accommodation options at Vatia Beach Eco Resort include cabins, a six-bed dorm, or camping.

THE resort’s main building contains a spacious common area, the dorm, the reception, a kitchen, a food preparation area and some staff amenities.

Facilities are basic at this point. Further upgrades and developments are planned.
